The FDA approved Zolpimist (zolpidem tartrate) oral spray for the short-term treatment of insomnia characterized by difficulties with sleep initiation. Zolpidem tartrate is the same active ingredient as Ambien. Both 5 mg and 10 mg sprays were approved.
